The Tehran Times reported on July 11 ,The country is expected to export $600 million worth of furniture a year, but now exports only about $60 million a year, said Al-Ahmedean, head of the Iranian Federation of Furniture Manufacturers and Exporters. Ai pointed out that Iran's furniture industry has more than 80,000 manufacturers and services, accounting for more than 8 percent of the country's industrial employment. Iran's neighbors are the main destination for furniture exports, but Iranian producers are facing a shortage of raw materials.
