Furniture retailer Emily Home (ashley furniture inds.) ceo Todvanek (todd wanek) recently wrote to dealers that Emily will cut the price of most imported furniture in the US market, starting on April 1.
Imported furniture that will be cut includes imported accessories, bedding, Outdoor Furniture, upholstery and luggage products.In the letter, Todwanek noted that although the company itself had yet to see its import prices fall, Emily had decided to continue cutting prices.Todvanek said: " We believe that the price reduction will not only bring great value to the product brand and ensure its competitiveness in the market, but also reflects our commitment to continue to improve the business and improve customer satisfaction.We will continue to invest significant manpower and money in robotics, automation, and process improvement.Currently, we are evaluating the raw materials for the company's products, and the suppliers of the raw materials.Our goal is to continue to deliver products of the best value in the home goods sector, while employing more than 30,000 people worldwide."
Emily Home also plans to adjust retailer fees that are inconsistent with the new pricing from April 17.The company will also reduce the price increase for West Coast customers from an average of $20- $40 to up to $20- $30, depending on their price points.Todwanek also cited the company's recent launch of a new upholstery production plant in Arizona, designed to lower product prices to better serve the West Coast customer base."As we continue to increase production at the factory, we can achieve our target -- to reduce the price of products faster."Todvanek added.The repricing of the backlog for domestic purchases will take effect on April 10, while the repricing of imported products will take effect on May 1.
